Voile de brume

29 × 29 cm,
There are days when the sea withdraws into silence. When the colour itself hesitates, between olive green and pearl grey. A veil of mist that softens everything, blurs the contours, calms the gaze.
Above, a crackled sky, like an old Mediterranean fresco eroded by salt and time. The matter carries the traces of the wind, of wear, of patina. Nothing seeks to shine.
Halfway up, a band of discreet gold shimmers, interspersed with white. It is the foam of a low tide, the one that leaves on the sand the last traces of the night. Gold leaf surfaces without brilliance, like a memory of light rather than a frank light.
Below, a pale sand, almost a memory. A foreground that does not call the gaze, that welcomes it.
A contemplative format, a restrained matter. Acrylic and chalk sculpt an atmosphere of silence.
Matter, acrylic, chalk, structural plaster, gold leaf. Wabi-sabi. The light settles. The gaze grows still.
