Palazzo noturno

A tapestry of evening, touched by the light of morning.

The deep brown carries the golden volutes like a night holds its stars. On the left, a sky blue pierces through, as if dawn was beginning to cross the wall. Gold surfaces everywhere, discreet, obstinate.

Two times cohabit on the same canvas. The night that remembers, the morning that begins. Neither triumphs. They hold on, like two centuries that would have met.

The scraper did not seek to clarify. It let the twilight keep its mystery. What rises, what descends, what persists. Everything is there, contained in the same surface.

A contemplative life resembles this canvas. It does not wait for the light to unfold. It knows it is already there, beneath the night, waiting for the right angle.

Dawn rises through the night.
