Miami

Miami. The name alone already contains the light. This work is a tribute to that city where eleven of my paintings live in the heart of the Plaza on Brickell, bathed in a tropical light that recalls the light of the Mediterranean.

Above, a pale sky, hazy, crossed with tender greys. It is the sky that precedes the heat, the one that lets the light settle in slowly. At the horizon, the gold leaf bursts. Generous, coppery, almost incandescent, it marks that luminous frontier between sky and water.

Below, the sea unfolds its turquoises and emerald greens, textured in successive layers where one senses the depth, the currents, the life pulsing beneath the surface.

A light that crosses seas and meets my own. Matter, structural plaster, acrylic, gold leaf. Wabi-sabi. What the light touches, it connects.
