Le Souffle du couchant

Two lands answer each other. Two warmths.

Above, a sky of warm ochre, veined with cream, like a breath crossing the south at the hour when day prepares to yield. The light is no longer vertical, it glides, it envelops. It is that Mediterranean hour when everything becomes slower, denser.

At the centre, a clean black line, hemmed with gold, marks the frontier of silence. It does not divide, it connects. It gives the gaze an anchor point, a threshold to cross.

Below, a crackled red earth, run through with threads of gold, furrows of an ancient memory. The cracks are not wounds, they are paths. Gold leaf comes to lodge there, revealing the life beneath the burned surface.

Raw matter, almost mineral. Wabi-sabi assumed all the way into the fissures.

Matter, structural plaster, acrylic, crackles, gold leaf. Wabi-sabi. The earth does not tell its story. It burns.
