L'Été Indien

Indian summer is the light that does not want to leave. It is those days at the end of the season when the sun, as if remembering, returns to lay its warmth one last time before yielding.

Red dominates. Red of tile, red of late sunset, red of ripe fruit. It carries all the memory of the warm months, everything that has been lived, everything that already begins to become memory.

Gold surfaces, discreet, like an oblique ray that crosses the canvas. It no longer burns, it still illuminates. It is the sun's last offering before the days shorten for good.

The matter keeps the trace of this passage. The plaster surfaces, the marble powder catches the light, and the surface vibrates with a soft nostalgia, without heaviness.

It does not mourn the summer going away. It celebrates its last glint.
